The changing education system in Sierra Leone
In November 2018 I visited schools in Sierra Leone to report on the changeover from religious to secular education, and on the changes Irish nuns had brought for local girls and the local teachers taking over from them. The trip was supported by the Simon Cumbers Media Fund as described here.
This ran in the Irish Mail on Sunday. Photograph shows girls at school in St Joseph’s in Kono, Sierra Leone
